The following standards are established for building a modular layout using narrower than usual modules. The design constraint of a 16”-Module is to minimize space requirements while providing modelling and operational opportunities. Constructing the modules can provide a route to the NMRA Golden Spike Achievement Award. These 16”-Module standards borrow from NMRA and Fee-Mo standards with some modifications. The modules are constrained to 48” length and 16” wide and 5” of total depth. Modules must interconnect so that the layout dimensions are multiples of 4' to enable a continuous loop.
